Natural Treatments for Stress
This is a condition that most of us suffer with to lesser or greater degree. If left unchecked can be very destructive to your health and can eventually result in permanent damage or disease. All people are able to handle a certain amount of stress and then one can experience positive stress and this is normally good in the sense that it can motivate you to do things better. However, negative stress is very destructive and is something that must be dealt with. This can be done by exercising and participating in activities that will take your mind off all the negative influences and activities that causes this form of stress.
There are two forms of stress:
- Physical, which is caused by illness, injury and bad diet.
- Emotional stress, relationship problems, work problems, and these can present as a physical problem.
Stress cause your body to release certain hormones such as Adrenalin into the bloodstream and this increases your heart rate. Your lungs absorb more oxygen which is fed into the muscles giving them more strength (nervous tension) and makes you sweat more.
Symptoms of stress
- Headaches/disturbed sleep.
- Clenched jaws/grinding teeth in your sleep.
- Lack of concentration.
- Aggressive/teary/emotional.
- Forgetfulness.
- Substance abuse/alcohol/cigarette smoking.
- Over eating/lack of appetite.
- Lack of libido/erectile problems.
Treatment
