Treating a spastic colon

January 17th, 2009

We as humans are designed to go to the toilet to eliminate at least 3 times per day. But, because our diets are so low in fibre we are not going often enough and we are suffering health complications as a result. This why colon cancer and other colon related conditions are now so prevalent.

Part of the this problem is that women most often do not want use public toilets, which of course is very understandable because the general standard of hygiene in developing countries often leaves a lot to be desired. When this happens, the faeces dries out in the system and that causes constipation and along with this comes all the above-mentioned complications. Then as advertised in the media, you start taking laxatives that causes absolute chaos in your system. Do not use laxatives they are bad for you.

Symptoms

  • A lot of pain and discomfort in the abdominal area.
  • Often accompanied with indigestion,
  • constipation,
  • lack of energy,
  • listlessness/irritability.
  • In serious cases it can result in back pain, can cause kidney/bladder infections.

Treatment

  • Ginger is wonderful for this condition: Cut up some fresh ginger, boil in about 2 litres of water for about 40 minutes, on cooling add 4 tablespoons of honey and then add 2 fresh lemons, when you decant, leave the ginger pieces in. Dilute with water to taste, drink 2-3 cups per day.
    Keep refrigerated.
  • You can get magnesium peroxide capsules or powder, obtainable at Dischem and health shops. When taken converts to oxygen and helps the digestive process and helps the peristaltic action in the intestines.
  • Take Vitamin B 12 or B complex. The most effective way of taking Vitamin B12 is to have an injection for stress.
  • Drink good quality water, at least 1-2 litres per day. Most people don’t, but it a necessity.
  • Eat raw veggies, as much as possible, if not raw, steamed. Cooked veggies lose a lot of food value, most of the goodness ends up in the water the veggie is boiled in.
  • Eat fruit, wash your fruit and veggies with water with a little jik to remove the chemicals and pesticides that is sprayed on them, very detrimental to our health.
  • In extreme cases it is advisable to consider a colonic irrigation with a professional colon therapist. Do NOT just go to somebody who says that they can do colonics. You damage you colon you are in trouble because it is as important as your lungs or liver!
