Treating heartburn

January 17th, 2009

As we all know heartburn is a very common condition experienced by modern society. A poor diet causes excess acid which results in heartburn and as an added bonus we can develop weight problems as well. To deal with high levels of acid, the body produces its own fat to encapsulate the excess acid to protect the organs. If that acid was allowed loose in the body, it would damage our organs. That is why people who exist on really bad diets generally suffer with heartburn and may have weight problems. Another cause of acid is foods combinations that clash such as protein and carbohydrates. High levels of acid also causes us to age prematurely. Most people in Western society have Ph of 5-6 (1-6 acidic) it should be between 7,2 - 7,5 (7-14 alkaline) on a scale from 1 -14. The absolute ideal pH is 7,365. A baby on breast milk will have the correct Ph coming from it’s mother, as soon as it is put on formula, the pH changes and the body becomes more acidic and the ageing process kicks in!
